Since you play as a horrible blob-like thing with tentacles, hunting humans is one of the main objectives you have in the game, but there is more to the game than just that. The map progression is non-linear, and some zones are locked by seals that will prevent you from accessing. Even though it lacks some of the elements that are classic to the genre, most of the key ones are present in there. While Carrion is basically a 2D scrolling game, you could actually say it's a washed-down version of a Metroidvania. But to reveal it you'll have to explore the world of carrion nicely. And while the plot itself ends up being not particularly original, the gameplay makes up for it at least. The plot of the game is revealed little by little through the game, but subtly as you progress.
